Dog Fly-Outs

To support campaigns that help our local shelter dogs reach new destinations in order to find their forever homes, we began helping with transport of the dogs and their kennels from Hilo to Kona in November 2025. Mostly all of these dogs were saved by community members or transferred from Hawaii County Animal Control, where a second shot at life isn't always a guarantee. With the help of generous donors, volunteers, and partner rescues across North America, we've been part of a movement that has saved hundreds of dogs from potential euthanasia. Once the dogs make it to their final destination, they tend to become seen and get adopted extremely quickly. These outcomes highlight the limited adoption pool in Hawaii and provide a small amount of relief to the islands' current dog-overpopulation problem. If you'd like to support the "Pups Over the Pacific" program organized by Action 4 Animals Hawaii, please do so by donating to the GoFundMe page below.
